My name is Shaun Rowland. Welcome to my personal website. I work at The Ohio State University in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. I have worked for the CSE department since June 1, 1998, in the following positions:
- System Administrator (1998 - 2000)
- Senior Software Specialist (2000 - 2001)
- Manager, Software Support and Development (2001 - 2006)
- Programmer/Sysadmin/Tester for NBCL (2006 - 2007)
- Manager of Systems (2007 - present)
All of those positions except the first have the OSU classification of Senior Systems Developer/Engineer. Right now my CSE job includes running the production Solaris, Linux, and Windows servers and providing support to research systems. At the moment I am working on a Rails application to help the College of Engineering with gathering course data for our semesters conversion. Using Rails has made web development fun again. I am very interested in doing more Rails work, but I have a lot to learn about design - as you can probably tell by this web page :-)
I have a few other interests as well:

- Anime
- Manga
I am a huge anime/manga fan. I think this started with watching Nausicaä Of The Valley Of The Wind and Robotech when I was young. I like anything that has a good story and characters that characters I can feel something for.
